I have been coming to this place for years and my favorite is the beef stew with yellow rice. Also, the Alcapurias (idk how to spell it lol) and Pastelitos are amazing. Tamarind and passionfruit juice are number one :-)
This is my go to spot for Puerto Rican/Dominican food. It's kinda diner like, it's even open late. Mondongo is fire here. Hearty lots of chunks of tripe and trotter. Morcilla here is banging too. If you're into morcilla that is. Chicken stew there hits the spot every time I'm sick.
I was in the area and wanted some hearty food and saw this spot on the corner. I went in and there were two ladies sitting and eating and honey their food looked goodt! Okay maybe I was just a little hungry but I was excited about trying the food. Mind you I didn't read the reviews because I might haven't tried it due to the poor ratings. However, after checking out the reviews, most of the issues seem to be with their delivery service and/or customer service. The staff were friendly and I didn't have a problem even though I was only in the restaurant for about 5 minutes, lol. I ordered the roasted chicken with rice and beans. I wanted some plantains but I would've had to wait 10 minutes so I skipped them. I got home and feasted because the meal was delicious. The rice wasn't overcooked and the food was very flavorful. The prices were average and most importantly, the portion sizes were big enough to have leftovers for later which I loooove.. LOL If I'm in the area I would return to this spot and check out some other menu items.
3.5 stars. Fast and cheap eats . They give you a good amount of food. Got the red rice , beans and rotisserie chicken. Some parts were dry but satisfying. Got the fried potato and meat as well. Big piece.
